Overview

Brown GearTech (formerly Brown Europe Ltd) is a precision engineering specialist with decades of experience in designing and manufacturing high-performance gears and bespoke systems.

Following a full business strategy alignment and refresh, facilitated by Sharp Thinking Marketing, the company set out to reposition itself to target high-value OEMs - a significant shift from its traditional customer base - building on their existing reputation as market-leaders and building the foundations for the next 50 years of success.

The Challenge

While the business had evolved, its brand and digital presence had not kept pace. The Brown Europe name and visual identity no longer reflected the company’s ambition, innovation or technical excellence. The leadership team needed a complete rebrand and a digital platform that would:

  • Align with the refreshed business strategy
  • Appeal directly to large-scale OEMs
  • Showcase Brown’s engineering expertise and capabilities
  • Present the company as modern, confident and future-focused - and to stand out from the market.

Our Approach

Big Orange Media built upon the strategic foundations that Sharp Thinking Marketing had built, to deliver a complete end-to-end rebrand, creating a cohesive and credible new identity that would support the company’s next phase of growth.

Initially, we developed a creative strategy that positioned the business around precision, performance and partnership, the values at the heart of the Brown GearTech brand.

We then created a bold new identity, with a clear, confident name that better represented the company’s expertise and focus. The new brand was rolled out across all touchpoints, from visual assets to digital design and video.

Website Design & Build

The new Brown GearTech website was designed not just to inform, but to have a real impact that stands out from the crowd. Every element was built to reflect the precision and innovation at the heart of the business.

We worked closely with John Knight Photography to capture the precision and personality of Brown GearTech’s engineering. The output was a suite of images that highlight real craftsmanship, from detailed close-ups to authentic workshop scenes, as well as showcasing the breadth of experience within the team, giving the website a distinctive, credible visual feel.

We created a dynamic, interactive experience with custom animations, smooth transitions and subtle motion cues that bring the brand’s engineering story to life. These design details - from fluid scrolling effects to animated gear graphics - help convey movement, accuracy and energy, echoing the mechanical precision of Brown GearTech’s work.

The result is a digital experience that feels truly alive and distinctive in an industry where static, templated sites are the norm. The new website positions Brown GearTech as a modern, confident, and technically advanced player - setting it apart from the rest of the market.
